.22-250...going quiet

Hey guys, I'm sure this has probably been discussed before, but what kind of suppressor would y'all recommend for a .22-250? I've got a Savage Model 12 with a 22" heavy barrel and I'd like something that I can alternate between that and a POF AR-15. Any advice would be appreciated!

There are a lot of good suppressors. Once you shoot the 22-250 suppressed you will want to shoot everything with a can. So get one that covers your firearm collection as much as you can. A can rated to 300wm is very versatile. Larger than 300 wm rated become much heavier so more of a specialized suppressor. I didn't get a serviceable suppressor so I can't run on any of my rimfires, so that's my next one.

I have a Banish 30 from Silencer Central. Works good, light, no complaints. Have them do your barrel threading too. The whole process was very easy. It turned my 300WM shooting 215 Bergers into a peach to shoot.

I use a Nomad L 30 cal on my 22-250, it has a 26” barrel. Everyone jokingly asks if I'm shooting a 22 rimfire when they hear it. I have used it on 300 WM, 300 PRC, 6.5/300 Wby, 7/08 and a few others, I like it. Another guy I shoot with frequently has a 22” 22-250 and uses an Omega 30 cal and it is pretty loud, I actually make sure I have my ear plugs in when he shoots. I dont know why it is so much louder.

Some cans are heavy(weight), some full auto rated, some require special mounts, some are serviceable. some are more expensive. These will help you narrow the field.

I have shot next to hundreds of suppressors and honestly I've never been able to hear a difference in one verses the other. Of course different barrel lengths would make a huge difference between urs and your buddies

That would be my guess. I have Nomad’s Enticer’s, and a couple of Thunderbeast’s, they all are about the same on noise level, but have different tones, especially the Thunderbeast. I like them all, the Enticer STI surprised me, very good valuer per dollar spent.

I only have one, a TBAC 30 cal Ultra 9. It's pretty long for hunting, but sure tames a 7mag. That said first time i put it on one of my 22-250's I swear I was wearing this stupid grin all day, amazingly quiet, it was more like shooting .22 longs for both sound w/muffs and recoil was almost non-existent.

Like many have said there's a slug of nice cans out there, unless you want more than one just give it some thought before jumping in so you'll get the coverage you're looking for. I'd focus more on attachment method, weight, and duty cycle for your uses than anything. Especially attachment method as it can get costly if you want to change it up later.

I'm running a Liberty suppressor on my Tikka 22-250. Several guys said I would still have to wear hearing protection while shooting. Not my experience, it really did tame the noise. To me, it sounds like a sharp crack well downrange toward the target.
Another plus for me, Liberty is located nearby. I made a trip to their location and got a first hand look and detailed explanation of their products.
