22-250 Fast Twist Hunting Bullet

2.6 oal puts ~.24" of shank into the neck and just so happens that the shank/boattail junction coincides with the neck/shoulder junction.

That's some good info, thanks much for the Quickload data.

As to seating depth the standard of 2.350" seems really short, especially with the long bullets I've selected. So far the 69 TMK and 80 ELD-M look much better seated out some.

My Tikka has the throat & magazine length to blow right by that number.

I looked at that one, seemed to have been designed for AR-15 platforms & short yardage engagement. Kinda blunt.
I do agree on the blunt nature of the bullet. It is designed to hold together for barrier penetration but still provide good expansion. I have mainly used them in the AR-15 and they work great from velocities ranging from 2900 down to ~2000. They still expand quite well at lower velocities. The best way to think of it is that is the cheaper, more available replacement for the 60 gr Partition, which is very hard to find.

If you have the twist, are planning only broadside shots, and aren't worried about bullet failure or clean pass throughs I think the 80 ELDM vs ELDX is a great choice.

Shot over Garmin

36.5gr avg 3294 - ES 8
37.0gr avg 3312 - ES 13
37.5gr avg 3345 - ES 21, this group opened up to ~0.7" (might have been me)

I didn't load any charges beyond 37.5. Pressure still looked good and I could work up to a higher charge but I'm sticking with the 36.5-37 node. SIG brass CCI200

I used QL to model this load @62000 max psi
Just curious reading through for some info. Sig 220 swift brass ?
