22-250 cases to 250-3000 and back again???

I purchased almost 100 once fired cases that are head stamped 22-250 but after trying to size one I found out they were necked up to 250-3000 (250 Savage). When I tried to FL size one of them I got about half way down the neck and the press stopped and when I pulled the case out there was a bulge about half way down the neck. Is there any chance I can resize them back to 22-250, and how would that be done, or should I just give them away?

You could anneal. Then reduce to .243. Then go to the .224. Then anneal again.

Or ...rather then buying all the dies and/or bushings to do that - get new brass.

The previous owner probably figured out that 22-250 brass is/was A) more readily available, B) available in better quality brass, and C) less expensive than standard 250 brass.

As mentioned above. Anneal. Size to .243. Size to .224. Anneal again.
Or just buy new brass.
You could always work out a deal with me on purchasing your 250 brass.
