I had a friend of mine bring me a sporterized enfield that is chambered for a 22-250 that he picked up from someone that has been in his safe for years.
The person that built it is not in business anymore and all they did for a spring and follower is stuck a remington 700 short action spring and follower in there with a bent piece of metal to make the mag box area smaller.
The rifle does not feed at all with rounds in the mag box. I put a mauser 98 follower and spring in there and got rid of the hack job bent piece of metal but it still does not want to feed consistant. Being that its a long action with a short action caliber If you didnt have the CRF and it was a push feed I feel it would work fine.
I also tried another enfield spring and follower and that didnt work at all.
Anyone by chance happen to get a 22-250 to feed on an enfield and if so what did you do to make it work? I will straight up say I hate Enfield's and I dont work on them but I am stuck working on this one.
