22-250 and a 7 twist anybody

I shot a 22-250 across the course for several years. I could blow up 80 gr. Sierra's with an 8 twist. My last barrel was a 9 or 9.25, my memory fails me. I usually used a 27 or 28" barrel and velocity's were in the 3300 fps range. I would not use a 7 twist.

My 9 wouldn’t stabilize any 80gr no matter how hard I pushed them

How fast are you running them?

3400 IIRC. I shot them faster, but thats where the accuracy was...

I have a 7twist 22-250 and it really slings those 77SMK at about 3400 FPS. They stay together and very accurate. It does duty on my AIAW rifle.
