22-250 Ackley

Recently picked up a used Remington 700 custom and on the barrel is stamped RBG 22-250 Ackley. Anyone know what the RBG may stand for?
Thanks

Dave, Ackley chambers should safely fire the parent round very accurately, most time as well as your new fireformed loads. I've always took a load that shoot well in the original chambering loaded it in new brass, when went to the range and sighted in, then went home and loaded the rest of the new brass up to be used in a prairie dog town. There's no use waisting time, barrel life, powder and bullets. The critters will never know they weren't hit with the AI loading and either will you and your brass will all be fireformed for the next trip. Truthfully you'll find in a good barrel there's little difference in accuracy.
Good luck

Someone asks what RBG might stand for and gets people wanting to show what experts they are by giving loading advice. Amazing.

Really bad gunsmithing was the best one I heard!

Well, Lee makes a RGB 22-250 die set. From what I understand it actually means 'Really Good Buy.' Seriously... Google it. They are a utility die set, and really cheap. Never had them. Is it possible that the rifle is chambered to use the cheap Lee RGB .22-250 dies? I dunno, maybe I guess...

Nonetheless,'really bad gunsmithing' is pretty funny, and if some unfortunate gunsmith was cursed with these initials, he has my pity...
