22/243 ai loads

Bigriver......I just seen some loads on ammoguide.com about this...BUT you have to be a paid subcriber to see what is being used...I just got my 22-243 Win up and shooting the other day..I didn't have any info on powder charge. So, I just loaded light for a 243 Win...Shooting RL-22, 75 gr. Amax..Hope this helps.

Anybody using varget? Got plenty of this if it would work.
Thanks for the info I was thinking of trying that. What speeds are you getting with the 75's

Gadget may be a little fast for a 75gr. I've run powders like rl22, and 4831. That burn rate seemed to work well for me. Rl25 andimr7828 seemed a little slow for my 26" barrel. Good luck.

I just got mine up and running this summer so I haven't done to much with it so far. I started out using AA3100 with 80 and 90 grain Sierra's but found out 3100 has been discontinued until they can get the formula right again. I have been using RL25 and 4831shortcutt with good results so far. The weather has kind of cut my shooting short for now but when I get the chance I'm going to try Superformance it was supposed to be for over bore cartridges with a burn rate just slower than 4831.

The fastest powder I have used in mine is H4350. Mine shines with RL 25 and IMR 7828. I have a 75gr forming load that I am using 45.5 gr of Superformance getting 3620 fps out of a 26" barrel. I actually stumbled on to this load by trying to conserve the powder I use for the formed brass.

Man all this talk about the 22/243 ai makes me want to build one up, the only thing is i am running a 22-250 ai rite now with the a max and it does great, just havent pushed it over 3325. If i could easily get 3600 out of a set up with the 75 i would be pretty jacked.

Is anyone running a hydrolic forming die for the 22-243 ai?
