22/204 AI / 222 Mag AI

Whichever you want to call it...has anybody else chambered a rifle using 204 Ruger brass necked up to 223 and then AI?

Plan on using a 1:8 twist.....

Powder suggestions with 75/80 gr bullets?

I was thinking about the same thing kinda, I have a Ptg 223ai reamer set up for the 75 & 80gr Amax could that be run in a little deeper you would have to put a false shoulder on 222mag brass or neck up 204 I have a couple of Savage 9 twist take off barrels to practice on.

It'll work........I had a factory sporter Savage 223 9' twist that wasn't accurate that I chambered exactly that way, just for kicks. I use 204 brass because 222 mag brass is too hard to find. Comparable to 222MagAI in every way.

I use Lee 223Ai dies with spacers to size with....the collet die works very well used the same way for neck sizing.

BTW, after crowning and rechambering the barrel still didn't shoot any better.....a bad barrel I guess, but the idea works great.
