That press was used to seat 6 bullets in 3 different bushings by myself unless something happened when I wasn't looking but thank you I will get in contact with the distributor over here

Last time I talked to him about fixing it, it cost as much as a new press.

This may be a dumb question but I don't have the hydraulic version of 21st C's arbor press - yet. Can you "burp" the pressure gauge without disassembling the plumbing? I like the press in its basic form.

I purchased one two years ago to seat bullets in a Dasher. I personally use light seating pressure so I switched out the 0-100 with a 0-30 gauge. Best move I could have done. My sorting for record rounds is +/- 1.5 psi.

I am not sure what you are asking. The video I linked shows how to burp a glycerine filled gage if the gage will not zero. If you have air in the main hydraulic system it will sound like a bowl of rice krispies when it is being pumped. Then you need to bleed the air off at the system highpoint. There is probably a video out there somewhere that will show how to do that also

I don't own a hydraulic reloading press myself and being a KISS ( keep it simple) kind of guy I don't really plan one buying one anytime soon. I do have lots of experience with large and small hydraulic systems in the manufacturing operations however so if you can be a bit more clear I can probably get you pointed in the right direction

You can buy a new gauge for $10 or less. You do not need the glycerine fill since the press does not have any violent vibrations bouncing the needle. It is a 0-100psi 1/4npt lower mount. Can be bought most anywhere. If you keep maxing it out try a bigger range, non hydraulic or the k&m. No need to bother john with a simple gauge changeout

I’ve always had good luck with light neck tension. I’m fairly new to my hydro press. I turn, anneal and use expanders. I haven’t seen over 22#s on my gauge yet. 6BR that is. Speaking of consistency. I wonder what would be more consistent. 20-30 or 80-90. Humm.

My process is to have all my neck thicknesses to be within .001. I use a neck expander to achieve close to perfect neck tension which also eliminates the donut. Over kill?...can’t hurt.

I can guarantee that the 20-30 is going to be better than 80-90. Think about it, you are pushing down on a hollow point bullet jacket made of copper. At what point do you think you start changing/deforming the jacket so that it wont fly properly any more. It ain't rocket science.

Keep the thread hole level while removing the factory gauge. The press can not be bolted down to accomplish this. I used Teflon tape on the threads of the new gauge. I used a baby medicine syringe to replace any lost oil. I also used craft clay to build a dam around the hole so that I could over fill, helping to eliminate bubbles. I used mineral oil.

Greetings all,
I have been reloading for decades now, dodging the annealing bug until now .
I am quite aware of how harder (stiff might be a better word), un-annealed the brass becomes after a few reloads, and I suspect bullet seating forces are all over the place. I have always wondered how this might be hurting my loads accuracy.
I have been considering this 21st century press for a-while now, from the reviews and few online videos it seems to operate quite nicely.
However one thing that bugs me is my suspicion it operates with a hydraulic chamber right above the Inline dies.
For those who own one, I ignore it's design, but I suspect it operates a hydraulic cylinder and thus seals with an o-ring(s) ? I am thinking about leaking some of the oil from this cylinder (piston) right on top of the die.
Any such experiences ?
