20VT & 20P Barrel Length?

I went with a 24" shilen on my 20P. I'm getting 3650fps with 25.5gr of varget. It's a super light load from what I can gather. Took it out to SD for a PD shoot and barely warmed up the barrel.

My 20P has a 26" barrel as well, With 40 grain Ballistic Tip under 25.0 grains of 8208 XBR I'm getting 3782 fps. My 20VT has a 24" barrel, and with 32 grain Vmax over 18 grains of RL-7 I'm getting 3802 fps, or 17.7 grains of N120 about 3800 fps as well.

Every varmint rifle I own is 24". Best for handling characteristics, plenty of speed for each caliber of choice, and just "looks right". Not too long and clumsy, not too short either.

Keep in mind we're talking about low powder weights, not some magnum boomer requiring long barrels to burn all that powder. Keep it simple, keep it light and right. 24" all the way.

With all my rifles at 24", every one I pick up has the exact same handling characteristics, no matter the caliber. Seems like the right way to go to me.
