20PPC WITH BADGER BOB 46.5 GR RBT

I get good accuracy with an 11 twist 204. They are screamers out of my 10 twist 20-250. They shoot ok from my 9 twist 20-250 but I prefer his 50's. Sadly Bob isn't making anymore bullets.

Yeah the 20 cal world is hurting for heavy bullets these days. Hopefully someone picks up where others left off because there’s actually a very large 20 cal crowd out there

Totally agreed. I’m dreaming of a high BC 50 grain tipped .20 caliber varmint bullet. Maybe some day. Maybe.
I thought Nosler might come out with a 45 or 50 or both for their 20Nosler but they seemed to have dropped it. Shame.

Every once in a while Berger does a run of 55s but thats the next step up from 40gr for a bullet that won’t break the bank so that’s a pretty big gap. It doesn’t do much good for the guys with 10-11” twist barrels to buy 55s.

I know there’s Hammers and maybe a couple other custom bullet guys out there, but some of the prices are very high for varmint shooting.
Hammers wants $80 per 100 for their 48gr 20 cal bullets!!! There’s no way anybody is gonna buy those with the volume of shooting required for varmints and plinking. I’ve never even paid that much for the Berger 250gr bullets I use in my 338 for serious hunting! That price for 20 cal bullets is insane. How the hell do they expect to sell any of their 20 cal bullets at $80 per 100? They have them in stock and I expect they’ll stay in stock at those prices until the bullets turn into dust on the shelves.

I helped Bob Vining make 1000 bullets one day. He and Sandi and I worked for over six hours and when I left we had about 850 done, they kept working. There was something like 8 or 9 pulls on a handle of various presses with different dies and some steps needed to be lubed and other steps required acid wash to get all the lube off. The lead rope had already been swaged into 20 caliber. Point is, good custom bullets take a lot of work.

Yeah I’ve been to Calhoons place and watched him and his wife making bullets by hand, but hammers bullets are made on a CNC machine
