20-223AI work-up help

Posted this at Saubier but no response hits ---- can anyone here give any input???

Have a Cooper 21 with X-Caliber 1-9 tw. 3 groove 26" barrel chambered with .228 neck. ---- looking for experiences from anyone loading 55 gr. Bergers' with a similar 1-9 configuration (powder choices, vel., group size etc.).

Have formed brass on hand from similar 1-11 tw. barrel chambered with same reamer: LC-13, IMI, Lapua, Nosler, Norma

Any input much appreciated ---- Tooter

No suggestions re your request but do have a curiosity abt the reamer neck size. I have a .2335 for my VT just hope it won't necessitate nk turning for a colony app. I have Lapua as well as mil brass for forming. Like I said, hope I don't end up with extra brass sneaking into the nk during the set back and scqunching down.

Re: TAJ45 - I load for a 20SCC (20-221AI) with a .233 dia. neck. It takes Nosler Fireball cases right out of the box for forming w/o any need to neck turn ---- otherwise I turn everything else, Lapua, LC, IMI, .013 after necking down/setback. For "no-turning" brass in your VT, I'd stick with Nosler or Norma cases.

For this 20-223AI project with a.228 neck, I turn (will be turning) all cases to .011. Also have a 20 VT with a .231 neck that I turn everything to .012 - .0125.

Toot, Reloader 17 with the 55's loaded at 2.450" COAL nets me 3640 fps from my 28" 8 1/2tw PacNor. Ain't much air space in the WWC 08 formed case however I ain't lost a primer yet. To 500 yards I'm not so sure it can be beat. JMHO

MrMaj, just the wisdom I was looking for ---- this camps right on the best I've got from my 20 Blitz with 55 Bergers over H414.

Now gotta find some RL17 ---- thanks my friend, it'll save me much time.
