.20BR barrel length question...........

.20BR???? / 9 twist / 55 Berger...........

Expected velocity 3600-3700+

Will a 30" barrel have any adverse effects on these bullets?????

Somewhere i kinda remember reading something to this effect, but i can`t recall where......

You know, if you read it on the internet it has to be true......... ;D

What sayeth the experts, will the barrel length be a detriment th the 55 Bergers at these projected velocities????

I personally don`t think that 2" of barrel will do much ~ 30 fps. per inch?????

It`s much easier to shorten a barrel than lengthen one, so I`m gonna err on the long side....... 8)

I believe the lack of responses to this question is quite possibly the answer.....

I would have to agree.I don't mind the extra weight either. When you shoot it out,just chop off a couple inches and get back to blastin!!

2 years later got bored with it...

Rechambered to 20-222.........p/dog table gun...

much happier with it now...

I'm getting 3700 out of my 1:10 24"barrel with the 55's. Souds liek hte 55's wont handle much more velocity before they start blowing up, so no point in going much longer unless you use larger case and different bullet
