204R Build

Still searching for more info on my 204R build
I wish to make the rifle with lots of weight so was thinking about a 28" to 30" straight taper (1.250)PacNor barrel with a muzzle break.
Do you see any problems created with the length of the barrel ?? It will be 11 twist
For bench use only.

I built a 204 remington 700 with a Shilen 27" SS match barrel 10 twist and 1.00" at the muzzel. It also has a thumb hole stock with a 3" forearm and mounted with a Z6I Swarovski 5-30x50 scope. This is all I want to carry to my Caldwel rotating bench to shoot PD with. It is a tack driver with 32 - 39 - 40 grain bullets. I would scrap the idea of a 30" barrel and the brake. I don't lie, this gun shoots with the 27" barrel. That's my 2-cents worth!

Make sure you have a heavy stock so it balances. I had a Savage LRPV with a big fat 26 inch barrel. Never did like how barrel heavy it was and ended up selling it. I only shot it off a rest and bench.
