I have been loading for 40 years so I know most of the answers I will get.
Just got my first 204 Ruger.

Here goes:

What are your best loads ?

a lot of ppl like r10x and 39 Sierra. I like 40 zmax and H4895. I have used many combinations and can't find a bad one. Don't forget about H322 and 32 grain bullets. Too many to list. All these loads are fairly maxed. good luck

I run 40gr v-max with 27gr varget. Bullets seated way out it's still a fairly hot load but it's a prairie dog popping son of a gun.

39 Sierra BK with 26.8 gr. IMR8208 XBR and Rem 7-1/2 primers. Consistent sub 1/2" 5 shot groups out of three different CZ 527's

Benchmark is another good option in 39-40gr bullets.

Loading for my Savage LRPV , I was doing all load testing at 200 yards for the factory gun class at 200.
Seirra 39gr with V-135 or V-140 gave me very good 4 shot groups but could not get away from that one flyer. So I ended up with Berger 40gr varmit BT and V-140 ( took the flyer out ). Forester F/L dies and seating the bullets out as far as I could get away with, got a long throat. ( nothing speacial ) And federal 205m primers. Under good conditions this load in mine shoots very good.

Worked up loads for two different rifles. Both with Berger 40 grain BT's and Fed Match primers. One with 28.1 grains of Varget and one with 28.2 grains Varget. Different lengths but both were long. Both shot in one hole at 100yds. One was a Cooper and one was a Browning A-Bolt Hunter.
