204 ruger factory ammo ??

I was going to take a couple 204s pd hunting this year and need a bunch of brass/ammo. Before buying bulk, it's it possible to load up some ammo with the same bullet to the advertised velocity to get an idea if it would shoot well before i bought them?

I have to say the Fiocchi 32 and 40 grain have not disapointed me.

I am going to hit the go button on some of the Nosler at midway if it is still on sale. I looked the other night and it was back to regular price. With the above link shows it back on special???
Jeff

HSM in Stevensville, Montana loads 32, 40 grain Vmax and 32, 39 grain Blitzking. They will ship but I'm not sure of minimum quantity.

I was mainly wanting to buy bulk ammo for the brass. And it looked like the dogtown stuff at midway was a cheaper way to get the brass than to buy it all and reload it all for my trip. That's the route I'll probably go

What kind of brass do they use in that Dogtown ammo? jd

I had a couple hundred of those Nosler bullets that I'd got for a song as "2nds" at our gunshow, and they were great. Grouped sub .5" in my 20-222. Need to get more of them. jd

I got a great deal on Fiocchi 32gr Vmax ammo . Out of my CZ-527 25.5"bbl it produces 3900 FPS . It did well in Northern NV squirrels,we will see on MT Prairie Dogs Next weekend .

I'm not sure if it's loaded the same, wouldn't surprise me if it was, but I've shot few boxes of the Hornady Superformance 32gr Vmax ammo in my CZ 527 Varmint 204 and that stuff shoots crazy good in my gun and those 32gr Vmax are very explosive on ground squirrels and I'm sure they have a very high splat factor on PD's as well.

The 32gr superformance bullets shoot 1/4moa in the 2 rem 700s i have. It's consistent and just can't believe the accuracy of that factory loaded ammo.

Hornaday & Fiocchi have shot well in 3 204's, a little more than 1" @ 200 yds. Since WW brass isn't available, Fiocchi will be the next supplier of brass via factory ammo. NOTE!!!!!! Fiocchi brass is somewhere 5-6 grs. heavier than Hrn or WW, IIRC. A load has been worked up very near the same amount of powder as WW with impressive results.
