204 Ruger case capacities

Does anyone have any information regarding the case capacity of the 204 Ruger with respect to the different brass manufacturers? That is between Winchester, Norma, Hornady etc., which one has the largest capacity. Logic would suggest the lightest case by weight would have the most internal volume but has anyone actually measured it?

So glad to find your question, even tho 9 years later.
Have been loading 204R for prairie dog hunt, and stumbled onto volume issue this morning. I shoot .284Win in F-Class competition and we're very conscious of case weight/capacity/fill level.
For dogs I never paid any attention and co-mingle my Remington and Hornaday brass, assuming not that big a deal.
I load 27.0-IMR8208 behind either S39BKs or Hornaday 40Vmax. Also load 28.6-IMR8208 behind H32Vmax. Was loading the latter this morning and had same case overflow 3 times in a row!!!! Using Adam's Autotrickler with A&D scale---quite accurate.
After 3rd overflow, measured 10 Rem cases and 10 Hornadays.

Rem--average weight 93.73; min. 93.66; max. 94.22>>>ES 0.56
Horn--average weight 103.41: min. 102.04; max. 104.50>>>>ES 2.46
Aveage difference 103.41-93.73=9.68 That is about 10%!!!!! Was astounded.

Also shocked at ES of 2.46 on Horn. That's about 2.5%.

Needless to say my 28.6gn overflow was in a Hornaday case. Not sure how I have not observed this is past years.

Understand Winchester, Norma make .204R brass. If any readers have either or both, would like to know their weights. Not going to purchase, just curious.

NOW sorting brass by my 2 brands and will load only larger volume Rem with 28.6gn.

Have weighed Norma and Lapua .284W and within their brands, decided not to sort anymore because they are so close-----1 or 2gn, as I recall.

Still amazed that those little 204R cases vary so much by brand and ES of Hornadays.

Exactly why I don't use Hornady brass for my 204R. I don't have anything bad to say about it. The brass is way thicker so it requires a different load. I can load the Remington and Winchester brass with the same powder charge.

If you don’t mind sharing, do you have a load for Imr8208 with Hornaday brass? Have a bunch. My 27.0gn for 39-40 bullets seems OK?
Or another load?
I have 5-204R rifles and try to avoid too many load combinations to simplify PD shooting—-mini-14, Cooper, 2 Savages, Contender. Have to load Mini-14 short of course.

I did a small sample of my Norma 204 brass. ES for 65 cases was 1.6 grains. Not good!

I load for 4 204R's. When I use 8208 I load 27.3 grains in Win or Rem brass and 39 Sierra bullets. Both brands of brass shoot the same with this load. All are full length resized because I never know which rifle will fire the round. I do not use Hornady brass.
