2025 NRA Board Elections

DE-F-Open

Gold $$ Contributor
To All NRA Competitors Eligible to Vote for NRA Directors:

The 2025 NRA Board elections are about to begin. Your ballots should be arriving soon - probably within the next two weeks.

There will be forty-nine (49) candidates on the ballot. To the best of my knowledge, only two of those candidates are active competitive shooters - Charles "Chuck" Rowe and myself.

I cannot speak for Chuck, but I very firmly believe that it is vitally important that competitive shooters and competitive shooting be represented on the NRA Board by shooters who know and love our sport. I believe Chuck Rowe probably feels the same way.

For that reason, I respectfully ask for your vote. Only about 3-7% of eligible voters vote in NRA Board elections. That means your vote is very important.

Please note that I have been nominated by both the Nominating Committee and by NRA Members' Petition. Over 850 NRA members from forty (40) states signed my petition, most of whom were competitive shooters. If you signed one of my petitions, I thank you!

I have taken the liberty of attaching a pdf document for your consideration that addresses many of the issues in this election. You may also want to go to my website at: www.sigler4nra.com. to learn more about me, what I stand for, and why I am once again running for the NRA Board of Directors.

Again - I respectfully ask for your vote.

Thank you,

John C. Sigler

Sounds good. But my Grandfather came here from Missouri. Show Me. I'll vote and see what changes. I will not donate again until I see significant changes in the NRA.

Good luck Mr. Sigler

The membership needs to be made aware of changes when they are made.

If I was not a Life Time Member, I doubt I would even join the NRA.

I feel like a fool seeing how my money was spent the last two decades.

That being said, your credentials are certainly first class. You are an avid shooter and competitor. You would seem like the perfect candidate to head up an organization where the primary goal should be protecting the 2d Amendment Rights of Law Abiding Citizens and encouraging the many shooting sports throughout the Country.

Your biggest problem is one of perception. Many See you, as one who has been involved in the hierarchy of the NRA, as part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I’m sure you can understand that.

Yes, I can understand how someone might think that - and they would be absolutely wrong.

It's like watching the flags and ignoring the mirage - gives you the wrong answer almost every time.

Thanks for your comment. I'm still hoping for your vote.

John.....Are you to be considered, under the old guard, or what is
being sought as the "NRA 2.0" directors running for office.

Fuj:

Darned if I know - I'm just me. I'm not into factions. It's time for us to be united in the single purpose of making NRA great again.

Is "NRA 2.0" a good thing? I think it is if "NRA 2.0" means a revived, reformed and rebuilt NRA that represents the members and puts the members first in everything it does.

I view "NRA 2.0" as putting the past behind us and building for the future - without losing the vision, purpose, history and heritage that has made NRA the strongest and greatest Second Amendment advocacy organization in the history of our country.

I just want what's good for NRA and what's right for the members, especially competitive shooters and competitive shooting. For far too long far too many people have pushed competitive shooting and competitive shooters to the curb. We ARE the heart and soul of the NRA - or at least we should be.

Competitive shooters are the volunteers who fight for the Second Amendment, we are the workers who make the clubs successful and we are the instructors who teach the classes that bring new shooters into the fold, safely and responsibly.

Am I "old" - yep - guess I am. I've been a member of the NRA since I joined while in the Navy in 1970 - That makes me old. But that doesn't mean that I don't look forward to a new day and a new chapter in NRA's long and meaningful history.

NRA has been around for 154 years - we've had some good times and, most recently, some bad times. It's time to put the bad times behind us - to learn from them and to prepare NRA for the good times ahead during the next 154 years.

My loyalty is to the members and no one else - always has been, always will be.

I hope I have answered your question.

John

I cannot support you Mr. Sigler. I have stated my reasons why in other posts and won't rehash them now, but, your tenure as President while WLP was committing his misdeeds are a major reason why. The NRA must also wish for me not to have a vote, even though I've been a Life Member for most of my adult life. I have not received a ballot in a number of years. My wish is for all of the BOD members during WLP's days as EVP to be removed and replaced with a clean slate. New, honest leadership who have the integrity to stand up for what is right and weed out those who enrich themselves at the expense of the members and the organization. I do wish you success in your competitive endeavors.

Thank you Mr. Julian for your honesty and candor. I understand your sentiment and conclusions although they are factually erroneous when it comes to me. If I were in your position I would probably feel the same way.

Be that as it may, although I now know that you will not be supporting me, I will continue to support you and every other member of the competitive shooting community. We now have a new EVP and a new attitude on the Board both of which seem to support competitive shooting and the exercise of the Second Amendment at levels that were completely missing throughout the days of WLP. Change is in the air - we need to capitalize on that change and keep that momentum going.

Again, thank you for your honesty and candor. Best of luck on the range,

John

I have known John for many years. We meet at the Nationals every year and we talk via email in between. John is one of those rare people who actually gives a dam about competition shooters and their representation within the NRA.

I have had extensive experience in huge volunteer organizations in the past, and I am surprised that John would even try again. That shows he has a lot of character and really cares about the competition shooter and how they are represented within the NRA.

I wholeheartedly endorse John and will remind all you detractors that no one else is stepping up to represent the competitor in the NRA. I STRONGLY urge all NRA members here to vote for John, and go one step further and get other NRA members to do the same.

As a life member I hate to hear others doubting the value of NRA membership
If not NRA please do SOMETHING to support your (our) gun rights!

Well please name some active court cases they've been involved in lately. GOA, 2nd Amendment Federation, etc. have been doing all the 2A work. Actually Judge in 5th district told the NRA a year ago they couldn't join the case because they were joining after the fact just to get their name listed. Which is something they typically do.
The directors like Mr. Siglar that were around during the WLP years and still there are changing their tunes and sounding like major reformers now. They aren't its just the wind is blowing a new direction. Soon as they can go back to their old ways they will. Its the older generation that is still trying to stay relevant. The NRA needs to move away from John, Walt, Mid, etc. I mean seriously John you were NRA President John when WLP was doing his stuff. If you say you didn't know you are either 1. blind and not fit to lead because you don't do your due diligence and stay aware of what is going on. Or 2. just turned a blind eye. You haven't responded to any of my other posts where I had questions for you, but you sir do not have my vote. Also don't say you'll still be looing out for me on 2A because like I said the NRA doesn't do that other orgs do all the work.
