2025 Freedom Benchrest West Coast Nationals

Welcome to the New Year. Sloughhouse Long Range is looking forward to beginning their 2nd Year as a member of the Freedom Benchrest organization. The 1st year turned out great and all of our membership enjoyed competing on a Nationwide basis. With the New Year, it is time to plan for the West Coast Nationals which seems to be just around the corner.

For this year's Nationals, we took some feedback and rather than a full week to host both the 600 Yard and 1000 Yard matches, we are splitting them up. The 600 Yard will be run in late April and the 1000 Yard will be in late September. Both will be Fri/Sat/Sun matches with the Friday open for practice/tuning. We are going to try this format for this year and see if it works better or if we should go back to a single week.

Attached are two flyers for the 600 and 1000 yard West Coast Nationals. If there are any questions regarding the events, please post questions here and we'll be sure to answer them as quickly as possible. We are looking forward to hosting the Nationals again this year and looking forward to seeing some new competitors.

Hope everyone is having a great year so far and shooting small.

We are less than 2 months away from the 600 yard Freedom Benchrest West Coast Nationals which will be April 25-27,2025. A number of great sponsors have stepped up to support this match, some of which include:
- Krieger
- PT&G
- BRUX
- Bullet Central
- MidWay USA
- Lilja Barrels
- plus more each day

We have added some new Target Frames at the range so that all shooting and benches will remain at the covered firing line. This has been a lot of work over the winter and will make for a much improved event. We held our first match there last week and everything went well.

All of us at the Sloughhouse Long Range Benchrest club are looking forward to hosting the West Coast Nationals for the 2nd time since joining Freedom....it just keeps getting better.

Day 1 of the Freedom West Coast Nationals is in the books. After a week of beautiful weather, rain rolled in for the weekend. We had rain over night and had to delay the start of the match to around 10:30...and even then there was some light drizzle. But it stopped and we actually had a great first day.

Big solute goes to Mary Scangarella for shooting a 0.53" group in Light Gun for the smallest group of the day. Well done Mary !! She was not alone with sub 1" groups with Craig Matthews posting a 0.850 in Light Gun as well. Overall, some small groups were shot all day.

We had another raining and cold day here in CA. I think everyone was wishing they had dressed warmer....I know I did.

The Final Two Day results.

Huge Congratulations to Mary Scangarella for taking the top spot. We had very tough conditions both from the cold as well as challenging wind. She was tough and all of her commitment to this sport paid off....well done !!!
