From Dean Smith, President of the Original PA 1000 Yard Benchrest Club
WOW!!! what a weekend is the only way to say it. I personally want to thank all 86 shooters from 12 different states who came and participated in this weekend’s 1000 Yard Freedom Benchrest Nationals. The weekend was full of excitement with shooters from the age of 12 to 88 along with rookie shooters. The firing line was buzzing with excitement and camaraderie. I’m not sure of another sport where the sportsmanship amongst the participants is as present as it was this weekend. All the shooters deserve recognition for that. The amazing staff who pulled this event off from behind the scenes while still competing is miraculous in itself. The saddest part of the weekend came on Sunday evening when one by one the hand shakes and hugs were given and the completion of another year was done. As sad as it sounds, still the excitement of I’ll see you next year was loud and clear. To all my fellow shooters Thank you and SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.
