2024 NRA Fullbore F Class Nationals

“Don’t confuse this announcement with the Nationals at Lodi in August.”

I am pleased to announce that the Colorado Rifle Club in Byers Colorado has been awarded to hold the inaugural NRA Fullbore F Class Nationals this year in 2024.

The date for the Fullbore F Class Nationals will be July 18-20th, 2024. Practice Day on July 17th.
Match Bulletin and more information will be forth coming. People have been asking about this and I wanted to get the dates out there for people to plan.

I will announce in next few days when the registration will open!

“The Colorado State Match will not be held this year and pushed back to 2025 because of the Nationals. “

The course of fire for the Fullbore F Class Nationals is:

Day 1- 3x15 Pair Fire at 800
4 man Team Match at 800 following pair fire

Day 2- 3x15 Pair Fire at 900.
4 Man Team Match at 900 following pair fire

Day 3- 3x15 Pair Fire at 1000
4 Man Team Match at 1000 following pair fire.

Awards will follow each day of shooting.

More info will be coming. Contact Matt Peetz at mdpeetz.fclass@outlook.com if you have questions.

Sounds like a straight Palma match to me?
Where is the 300, 500, 600 to make full bore.

Just saying.

John

I plead ignorance but does F-class fullbore use iron sights and same caliber restrictions as sling fullbore ?

Thanks Warren.
Why is it called Fullbore then ? F class long range (800-900-1000) seems more accurate. ‍♂️

What exactly is fullbore, and why thier own Nationals versus any other Fclass National event?
Fullbore tends to be two or three shooters sharing the same target and firing in turn with each responsible for scoring the other shooter (in pair fire or the shooter following if three are sharing the target) until each has completed the course of fire, usually 10 or 15 rounds per distance. There is a time limit of 45secs for the shot to be fired. It's more commonly used in the UK, Canada and South Africa as opposed to string fire (US, Aus & NZ) where an individual fires on his own target singly with an overall time limit for the whole course of fire, rather than for individual shots and a non shooter (at that time) scores the shooter, in Aus & NZ, there is normally a check scorer as well. That's a very brief overview.

I would imagine there would not be time to fire a fullbore series as well as the usual USA string course of fire at the US F class nationals, and many shooters may not want to shoot in that format so a separate event was needed.

Thank you, it actually sounds like it would be fun and challenging.
