2023 coyotes!

I was able to call in and kill 40 daytime coyotes in 2023, 18 of them being shotgun kills. My wife also killed her first one was well. Thought I’d share a few of them with you guys!

There coyotes just like the rest of em
Disagree. They are most likely coy-dogs. Cross bred between coyote and feral domestic dog. I see the same in my state. Doubt very seriously there are many/any pure strain coyotes east of the Mississippi river, perhaps even further west.

I shot a few off colored Coyotes. All within 7 or 8 miles of each other. I pure White, solid Black and a Red one redder than a Fox. I know a guy that shot a Brown one that looked the same color as a Chocolate lab.

Everyone were lot bigger than a Coyote. I always said they were Coydogs. They were in the 38 to 43 lbs.

Black coyotes are out there. Rare and localized, but out there. A hunting partner of mine called in and got 2 in consecutive years within a few miles of each other in northeastern Ohio. Long story, but to cut to the chase, he had the second one tested and it came back 100% coyote. Search this............ Black Coyote melanism

Not at all saying there are no "coy-dogs" out there too,, but that's a whole nother LONG topic.. JME. WD

Well I’ve never had one tested but it’s not super rare in my area to see a black one, I think the “coydog” term is way overused. I don’t see why it would be so doubtful there are any/many pure strain coyotes east of the Mississippi either. But like I said I’ve never had one tested so maybe they aren’t coyotes, either way I hope I kill 50 of them this year

^^^ this. They are rare and localized, I killed 4 last year and 3 of them came from a mile of each other. The other one came from another area that’s known for black coyotes. They are way more common in the southeast, I have no idea why but they are

Good stuff, man. Details on the killer rifle?
