What determines a "sled" type bipod? Is the Phoenix or Remple considered a sled bipod? If they had feet the same as a Harris, or Accu-tac does that make it OK? Just curious since we do get around to a few matches what is allowed or not. One match didn't allow front adjustment to tweak but allowed a rear monopod. I'm sure others would like clarification.

Thanks

Topstrap,
Yes, the Phoenix and the Remple are what, I am calling sled type. Any of the Harris or Accu-tac are ok. A monopod would be ok. I just don't want to see a benchrest type setup.

I limited ammo costs at my matches up until this past summer when ammo got scarce. That was the biggest factor i found over the equipment used. More and more shooters are upgrading to Rim-X, Vudoos and other guns but keeping the few that could afford the $20.00/50 ammo down to $8.00/50 max kept the playing field pretty close. I never allowed the big fancy heavy benchrest type rests but allowed the Rempels and such, my Son has an Accu-tac and when used with a good rear rest it's as steady as the Rempels.

Hard to keep things even for everyone, there will always be those that will buy the best and nothing wrong with that. I spot for every shooter that shoots my matches and it's always the ammo that gives the biggest improvement overall. Since I started allowing whatever ammo they could find I think the Lapua test cent is overwhelmed since they allowed participants to purchase case lots of high end ammo.

Tha amount of fliers is much less on the far targets with higher end ammo and the occasional flier is much less out of the norm that with cheaper ammo. Good luck with your matches, glad to see 22 rimfire matches becoming the latest fad. Not near as many eye rolls or smirks now when you share what a 22 rimfire is capable of.

I had 3 matches in 2021, we had a few Vudoo's and Remx. I am staying with Eley Club and SK Biathlon for my guns. I want to try to make it to your match this year.

Nearly all of us use SK Biathalon with a sprinkling of other SK stuff. A few brought R50, R100, Center-X, Midas and Polar Biathalon. Would love to have you visit.
