2022 Deep Creek Championships

as usual this match is a blast. good shooters, good food, great prize table.
i made it to town thursday night, went to the range friday am and made sure both rifles were generally pointed at the paper. my weekend pretty much ended on my first lg target.....TWENTY TWO INCH vert. hg was a little better. i still had fun and will go back

So if we are describing personal experiences, anyone ever watch a NASCAR race where one guy leads for 3/4 of the race, then something happens and he winds up a few places back?

I was #1 in two-gun after Saturday shooting. I hate being there because the only direction you can move is down. I was also still leading after half of Sunday. On my last LG, I thought I had the wind figured during the sighted period and I held off center to compensate. Guess what? All my shots went where I was aimed and killed my score.

I thought, fine, I'll not do that again. I still had my last HG and my HG had been shooting very well. During that last HG group I again watched the wind, but decided to just find the prevailing condition and run them all centered on the bull. Well, turns out I SHOULD have held off center because I again wasn't centered on the target and killed my score.

At Deep Creek, you can't have one bad anything and not drop in ranking......

Oh well, I very much enjoy shooting with this bunch and even enjoyed having @Jet there to beat up on me a little more. Truth is that without the Deep Creek shooters help I wouldn't be shooting anywhere nearly as well as I am.

SOOOO how to shoot at deep creek...NO CLUE.
WHAT WORKED WELL LAST YEAR FAILED THIS YEAR.
i tried watching a different wind indicator, and got better, but all in all my groups sucked....some day i will shoot a small group at deep creek.
alas all is not lost..i did pick up a LILJA BBL off the prize table... THANKS CARSON!

"WOW" where to begin August is always a bitter sweet Match for me at Deep Creek. Our tuning "grind" always comes to a end in July as the IBS agg season comes to a close. though I love grinding its always Satisfying to have it come to a close, dammed if we didn't brake a few more agg records as a result so cool. August for me is about enjoying one Last weekend at Bat with my Deep Creek Family before our shooting Season comes to a close, Naturaly I put my best foot forward but enjoying that Hot August air is what its about. Having extra shooters and friends we don't get to shoot with regular is just icing on the cake at this Match.. part of what makes this match or matches like it special is sitting down and visiting while feeding on catered goods always a hit though we nurture this every match at Deep Creek thanks to Mark and Angie Candau and a few added chef's along the way.. August is also a time to showcase the Latest equipment and shooting gear from professionals through out the Shooting industry & community not just on the firing line but through there Participation on our "yearly" prize table. As a business owner in the shooting sports and other sectors myself, I Shawn Williams am always Humbled by the support from these company's regardless of the $ size of a donation each season as it not only gets some of there product out , but as larg of a gift is that it helps Deep Creek and other clubs prepare for the following year financially through more shooter participation at these championship Matches, so thank you as we could not survive with out your support.. Deep Creek was a bit of a stinker this weekend but not ugly ugly just had to be on the ball or she was going to pop some shots. still some where able to find there way through and put up some nice aggs.. A Personal favorite would be my Son Trystan shooting a personal best single target in Lt class a 2.026" 5 shot on Sunday Grinding next to Rich Jette in some rather shitty conditions, sometimes things just work out.. thanks to all who participated and to those who put on some mileage to participate. congratulations go's out Not just to our winners but all who secured front page positions it was earned.

Thanks, the wind doesn't always blow you out, it can blow you in as well.

Deep Creek is by far my favorite place to shoot. Not because of the range itself but for the guys and gals who are there. Working with Milo in the pits, watching Trystan work some magic, seeing Angie going non-stop in the heat, etc are all part of the things that make this place special. The prize table and range itself are nice but shooting there for me is much more than that. This pic was taken when driving to the range Saturday morning. Wish I could get out there more often. See everyone next year.
