5 days or F-mid range
4 days of F-long range

I could F myself into exhaustion

All you have to do at Atterbury is put your hand on the black crossbar, and stfu and pay attention to your target. The sonic crack and the impact of the bullet can be felt in that frame pretty easily, then look up and confirm.

I read that the NRA was dumping a bagillion dollars into Atterbury to make a shooting Mecca. I hope some of those plans include an impact berm.

Unless someone is shooting a 223 or some other anemic round.

After seeing pictures of the pits at Atterbury, I was pretty pessimistic about those expanded metal platforms.

Turns out my fears were unjustified. Once the pipes were lubed, the targets ran easy. The platforms were fine, and the target spacing is generous. There is zero problem detecting a shot on your target, ahem, even from a .223 Service Rifle.

Now, the range facing North (duh, it’s South) puts the pits in the sun all day, and that gets a tad warm in August even for this Florida boy.

The NRA isn’t putting any money into the range, rather the improvements are coming out of Atterbury’s budget. The NRA put money into Competitions, really?
