2017 Vortex PST Gen II scopes anyone?

Just noticed that Vortex stepped their game up with the new Gen II PST scope line for 2017. Changes include 5-25x magnification, 70 MOA of elevation, target turrets with 25 MOA per revolution and ZERO STOP. And not that I care about FFP scopes, but the do offer both FFP and SFP versions

Wondering if anyone has got their hands on one yet? With the military dicount they offer, I just might have to give one of these a spin.

I've got one on order through their mil program. I've always liked Vortex and used a PST for a little bit on one of my bolt guns but I never could bring myself to like the turrets and shim designed zero stop. The Gen 2's address both of my issues so I jumped on it early. Now for the wait.

Should have my AMG next week to put through its paces.

I had the 6-24x50 PST when they first came out. I agree that shim zero stop was a joke. I never even used it.

Really like the new 25 MOA turrets on the Gen II. I could easily get to 1000 yards with my long range rifles before reaching one full turn when using my normal 300 yard zero.

I know Vortex doesn't condone letting people know the price of the military discount and I adhere to that when speaking in public. But being that I am also a veteran, would you mind sending me a PM with the total cost of your order on the scope with the military discount? I just want to get an idea and will keep it to myself. My question on the PST gen2s is on the glass. Obviously there is very little out there other than its "better" than the gen1s. Looking at Vortex's website, I don't see APO or HD listed as features unlike the razor line, so I don't think these are getting razor quality glass.

I think for my uses I'd rather go for the Golden Eagle.

The poor glass is the reason I got rid of my Gen 1 6-24x50 PST. Could never get a nice crisp image on anything over 22X in any weather condition. Most of the time i only turned it up to 20X. From there down, it was pretty good, but low light performance on all levels left something to be desired. So the glass in the Gen II is also a concern of mine. I hope that Vortex has done something to make it better. It will definitely need to be better glass with the increased magnification level from 4X of the Gen 1 to the 5X of the Gen II
