2016 MN F-class MR Regional. North Star Rifle club July 23-24

We are less than 3 weeks away. The club has had a lot of work done to make the range better. All of the firing points have been re-done so they are all inline with new signs in the impact area. This should make it a lot easier to tell if you have a shot on your target while in the pits. The range will be open for camping starting Friday afternoon.

The match is coming up soon. I have entries from the Dakotas, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. We are hoping to see some of the Elk River guys show up. There is still plenty of room for more shooters. I will be setting up squading for all the etries I have on Friday, so let me know if you are coming so I can get you on the same relay with shooters in your class.

Ben I'll be there and others from Elk River

Ben,

Do you think there will be room if I show up Saturday morning? Will be shooting F T/R Exp. Otherwise I will try getting my entry and payment in the mail Tuesday.

The way it looks now you should be able to get in showing up on Saturday. I estimate we have about 25 spots remaining to max out 3 relays.

I just got home from the range. everything is looking good for this weekend. What little work is left will get done tomorrow.

Are we going to try to get together at the pizza place after we're done shooting Saturday?

Quick update as I am still travelling back to ND (no I am not texting and driving rather stopped to eat...)
I'm posting from my phone so this may not work for the image.

As indicated above, Relay 1 shot twice yesterday and Relay 2 shot once. Those of us in the pits (Relay 3) had enough time to get targets, etc put away JUST as the sky opened up. Thus relay 3 shot all 100 shots for record today. Pretty sure that's the most I've done in a day for record.....

In Open Chris Longley shot an incredible 998 with 59xs for the gold. With Brian Bowling just behind with a 996. Mike Lehmeier took the Bronze with a 992.

I got out Xd for the Silver in FTR and I can say that Chuck Laitenen really earned the Gold only dropping 6 pts in the last 40 shots in tricky conditions to set up the tie at 981. Al Quast took home the Bronze with a 976.

A great match put on by an awesome club. Except for the downpour, a terrific time,

Drew

Congratulations to the winners. Thank's for coming out to shoot at nsrc. We had more than a few guys drive a long way to soot this match and it is appreciated.

Thanks for posting the scores, Drew. Congrats, looks like you shot very well! Congrats also to the winners in F-TR and F-Open, well done under obviously trying conditions. And I recall thinking a couple weeks ago at Bucksnort that shooting/pulling for a 4x20 match in a single day was challenging. Pretty sure 5 would've killed me.

I see that a lot of good shooters dropped over 10 pts. That tells me it was challenging, so the top scores are impressive. Way to go Chris and Brian.

Thanks to Ben and Scully for putting a great match together. Looking forward to seeing most of you again in 3 weeks! Hopefully we have similar weather to what Sunday was like for both days.
