The 2014 Roanoke Egg Shoot in the record books. The weather and range condition where great this year. We had 11 clean scores in Open class, one was 8 year Cash Brown, watch out for this guy, he is a shooter. We had many levels of shootoffs for the top 3 places. 6BR was the most used gun with, 25 out of 43.

Mark,
How do you handle the shoot-off's?
Just wanting to see how other matches
do it and learn something new.
Thanks

We shoot one round each, no sighter at 500 yds, on 3.5" clays, until one guy wins.

Was something to see the level of shooting there yesterday! 15's have been rare there and then there are double digits in one shoot!! Great shooting you all and congratulations on a well run match! Charlie Milliron

Congratulations Mark for your first place win... I know you had some tough competition so winning the open class says a lot for you as an individual as well as a shooter.
I want to offer my congratulations to Greg Myrick for winning the Factory class...Lots of really good shooters there....George

Wow,
Looking at the results list, what does that tell you about the inherent accuracy of the 6mmBR cartridge. Thought there might be more "improveds" in the bunch, but at 500 yards there may be no advantage.

This sort of reminds me of how this site got started as 6mmBR.com . I had a .260 Rem and rebarreled it to a 6mmBR. The first measured group went into 0.168, with no-turn brass and Scenar 105s and a "book load". Hmmm I said.

Mark,
Tell us what you were using to win with please. Rifle, Cartridge, Bullet, powder, scope etc......Thanks

Paul is asking for pics from this year's egg shoot. Anyone have any?

I was shooting a Bat B , krieger 8.5 twist 26", Mike Davis chambered 6Brx, shooting Berger 105 VLD's, fed 205gm, varget.

It was a great shoot as always and congrats again to Mark for the win. Most all of the shooters went high in the shootoff, Mark made a great call and was 1 of only 2 shooters to hit in first round of SO. I believe that run went 3-4 shots deep before Blake had a miss, Mark didn't...

I made it into the open shootoff with 2 separate guns (one was a 6x47L instead of 2 6br's listed) & advanced into the 3rd place shutoff with both of those guns; only to get whipped by both of the two youngest shooters there (one with my own gun :o). It hasn't been mentioned yet but that 2nd place in open was also a youngster; my 15yo son. Not gonna be long until we will have to get used to Blake and Cash whipping us way too often. Reflecting, I'm just glad neither one of them was in factory class. :P

Also, congrats to Jonathan Dunn for the win on the egg shoot. IIRC he won it four rounds deep (going 3/4 egg hits) & was also shooting a 6BRX. Still not sure how he didn't break all his skeet... ;D ;D ;D
