A manual tenth mike, measures 4 decimal places. No, I don't
Good idea I will try thatI don’t recall who ‘learned me’ this way but it works well just capturing the fat part of the case before and after sizing is accurate enough for brass measuring.

I was thinking about blade mics but I will look at these also. ThanksSome Mics have rounded anvils, not ball, but just rounded
You might look for one of those
Heres a Shars
Not ditching B&S type quality but for something not used continually in the machine Dept
$30 on ebay is worth it for occasional use
I have 1 Shars thread pitch mic that is every bit as Nice, smooth as my B&S Mics

However, for this measurement I use my B&S Calipers
They are the only set of calipers I own out of others including Mitutoyo's that give the most consistent and precise measurements

Blade mics would be great tooI was thinking about blade mics but I will look at these also. Thanks
Thanks Jackie and that pic makes perfect senseI never really thought it was very complicated.
I measure tapers all of the time. Equal line where you want it, then mic the lines
I do it the same whether measuring a specific spot on a case or on a 10 inch Prop ShaftView attachment 1666508View attachment 1666515
