20 x 47 sw info

hi just to let anyone know just had built the above with a .20 50 grain berger .296 bc doing 4050 fps energy 1812 flbs and sd under 10 and 35.8 grains n140 l/r primers pmc groups sub 1/4 a 1000 yd rifle any one need info i have some results interesting project

Based on your information I dont believe it's as economical as the 20BR or 20Dasher,20BR/40degree). The velocity factor is irrevelant if the accuracy isnt achieved. I believe that the Berger 50grain bullet will provide best accuracy at just under the 4000 fps in any 20Cal with the right twist. I really like the 47 brass but dont think it's a good choice for a 20Cal wildcat.
I think a BETTER project would be a 22x47
Just my thoughts.

2osok, this sounds like a very interesting rifle. I assume it is the 6.5x47 lapua necked to 20 cal. I have been wondering how this would perform as a long range varminter. i am not interested in economy and am not concerned about barrel life.If i burn a barrel out i should have had fun doing it and will gladly buy a new one. I would appreciate more details on this rifle, either on this forum or by email. thanks

Al I'm beginning to agree. I think the .20 Dasher will probably do almost what the .20 x47 Lapua will do with less powder powder.

Guessing you meant sub 1/4" @ 100 yars?...not 1000 yards

I have seen a 20X47 SM blast in 3/4 groups at 300 yards, I dont care how economical it may have been it pushed over 4050 fps with a 50g berger and with something like 1750 ft lbs of power devastating on varmints.
