This is spot on. They tweaked the ppc and grendel and called it arc. Copied the henderson trimmer and put their name on it. As for supporting their stuff, they came out with the RCMs but they flopped due to poor marketing. They do an annual run of brass. they necked down the 300 rcm, called it the 6.5 prc and marketed it as the next great thing. The creedmoor is not much more than a 250ai with a 30° shoulder and shoulder moved slightly forward and raised pressures. Its about marketing, marketing, marketingSure..if they move the shoulder .001 ahead and the neck .002 shorter so they can claim development and rights from Todd.
Whats odd ball when you buy the brass made and load it just like a 204, 223, 222 ect.I’ve done too much playing with oddball and custom chambering to want to go down that road again. Especially in this day and age.
I travel a lot. If I take a rifle with me I want to have the ability to buy factory ammo when I’m out and about. Usually why a 223 or a 17 Hornet goes. Being close to home is one thing with access to reloading equipment or more ammo. 1000 miles from home is entirely different.. so this is why I inquire on if it may ever become a factory round.Whats odd ball when you buy the brass made and load it just like a 204, 223, 222 ect.
There is no difference other than in your mind. A no turn " custom" reamer is no different than a saami one.
While my erlier comment is snarky, the othe rside of that comment may go something like "Remington made a bunch of cool cartridges but the disconnect between between marketing guys and the gun guys/developers there was a gulf that usually ended in such groaners as the 350 Rem Mag". I always wondered why the 5mm Rem Mag ended up a dud...but looking back...it was the disconnect...a crap gun and a poor amount of support. In that area, Hornady does an exceptional job...and we have seen a huge change across the industry because of it. (Even though they just brought back the 22PPC like it was never a thing....)This is spot on. They tweaked the ppc and grendel and called it arc. Copied the henderson trimmer and put their name on it. If Remington would have loaded the 260 with something other then a 140gr cor lokt and not forgot about it after 2 years…. Hornady does just reinvent the wheel but they support it at least. I’m always tired of hearing how great the 22 creed is… you do know you bought a 22-250 right? The 22 ARC another one where it’s just a 22 ppc with a tweak here and there. However go try and buy a box of 22ppc. Meanwhile 22Arc is everywhere. While my erlier comment is snarky, the othe rside of that comment may go something like "Remington made a bunch of cool cartridges but the disconnect between between marketing guys and the gun guys/developers there was a gulf that usually ended in such groaners as the 350 Rem Mag".
