20 Vartarg set up

I see a lot of discussion about the 20 Vartarg and thinking about a future build, In your opinion what would be the ultimate set up, action, barrel, stock for a medium-light varmint-sporter, I guess some would could call it a walking varminter, would love to read your views, thanks

For me it would be a kelbly atlas single shot rem varmint contour 1-11 twist mullerworks barrel 22 3/4" hs precision psv 004 stock
My reamer would be .234 neck with zero freebore with bullets rangeing 32 to 40 gr barrel probably a little heavy but that's what I like

For a walking gun I like my Cooper m38 varminter, but a classic would be lighter. I also have a Savage with an ER Shaw 20"barrel that I shoot suppressed. The Savage would be a cheaper way to go. I have killed Ghogs @ over 500yds with both. Mine are 12 twist and will shoot 32 and 40 gr bullets but agree an 11 twist would be a safer bet for the 40's. I do turn necks as mine have a .232 neck.

How about a sako A1 with 22" #4 sporter barrel and a quality synthetic stock. I have heard this short action works well with the vartarg case. You can also use a cz 527 for a lower cost version.

If you want a repeater vice a single-shot, I'd look for a Remington 700 Fireball action & bolt.

For light weight and repeater CZ 527 with a pac- nor 3G11 for barrel.

I think a quality barrel and barrel job on most action brands would do well----plus
a good bedding job.

I lean toward actions that work with Jewell triggers or other good after-market
triggers.

Remington sounds good to me.

I have 2 Coopers in 20VT and really enjoy them a lot,longest kill on a pd was 542 yards so far.If I was building a rifle and wanted to stay at a reasonable price level I would find an LVSF in .221 and rebarrel with a Pac-Nor 11twist,CZ 527s are well built too as previously mentioned.If budget was no concern a BAT SV would be my choice for action and any premium barrel in 11 twist would be hard to pass up.

Borden Rimrock BR, dual port
Hart 1:9, 26" heavy barrel

This gun was built for affordable target practice while developing my wind reading skills. Not much powder, affordable bullets, not much heat or recoil means you can keep shooting longer.

I would also like to build a light walking gun too on a CZ527 or Howa Mini with a short barrel and a suppressor for critter control.

EDIT: Scrap that, I'd build my critter control on a Borden SS6:

What do you guys think of a 20 Vartarg in a Ruger No.1 set up?

I absolutely love the looks of the Ruger No.1 but have been scared off them by their reputation of difficulty achieving great accuracy and limited trigger performance. But the looks... It's a great looking rifle! Maybe one day when accuracy means less to me.

I chambered mine in a Sako L461 varmint, which in my opinion, is one of the finest small action rifles ever built. Pacnor 9 twist barrel and Maddco trigger, it's my go-to gun.

I installed a 22" Pacnor 10 twist on a Remington model 7 action. I really like this combo.
