20 Vartarg and ball powder

I've had good luck using benchmark with 35 grain bergers.

What kind of speed were you getting?

Of those I would try H322, IMR 4198, IMR 8208 & Benchmark. You should be able to find a good to great load with at least one of those powders.

Thanks, not trying to highjack. I just bet there are lurkers like me who can't find 2200..but have other powders.

I posted on this thread last year when it was started and I had just started to play around with CFE BLK. Well I picked up a "new to me" Dakota Arms chambered in 20VT this year and started to load with CFE BLK and the 40 grain Berger BT bullet. WOW does it ever shoot. I actually shot a 5 shot group at 200 yards that measured under .5". Why test anything else???? I feel the 20 VT is by far the best caliber for varmint hunting and I think this thread proves why. There are so many powders and bullets that will work with this caliber. Having owned many rifles chambered in 20VT I have yet to find one that was picky about what you fed it. I have very good luck with CFE BLK in my M 38 and I hope the same when I get my M21 back from cooper after it gets the new barrel
