20 Vartag on 300 blackout action

I tried searching but I can't find it someone said you could build a 20 Vartag on a 300 Blackout for a repeater is this true???

For some reason 2 20 practicals in my safe is not enough so looking to see what the fuss is about & build a 20 vartag

Almost able to shoot side by side, plus it is very accurate, uses less powder, recoils much less and allows you to shoot more rounds before the barrel starts heating up. Shoot one and you will soon add a 20 VT to your shooting pleasure.

Assume you are asking about a Rem. 700 action. For a repeater, I believe you will need the magazine components(follower,spring,box) for a 17 or 221 Fireball.

If you have the rifle in 300 blackout and it is set up to feed as a repeater, then why not ? the 300 is a 221 case necked up to 30 cal and the 20VT is the 221 case necked down to 20, so all you would need it a new barrel fitted and chambered to 20 VT.

Once you go 20VT, there is no going back! It does everything your 20 practicals will do with less.

You are correct. A standard short action doesn't work too well, but the fireball/blackout action has slightly different geometry that allows the cases to eject properly.

Overall length of a loaded 300 Blackout is approx 0.4 inches longer than the 20VT. The 300 Blackout magazine components are 223 Rem. length.

I've got a 20SCC ( 20VTAI) on a 300blk out action works great.

Bill K has it correct above. The 300 blackout and 20 VT use the same parent case in the 221 FB. I have a brand new Rem 700 bolt action repeater in 300 blackout that will serve as a donor for the 20 VT I'm building when my 20 cal Lilja barrel arrives. The follower and ejector are correct to feed and eject the VT cases without issue.

Thanks for help my next ?? Is it possible to use a 300 Blk out Upper with a 20 Vartag barrel and make an AR15 in the 20 Vartag as well??
