20 tactical for ar

What powders are people with A R using with a 20 tactical. Needs to be clean with good velocities. barrel is 11 twist 22" long. I plan on running 40 gr.bthp.

I ran imr4198 in my 20P 24" AR, was pushing 32gr at 4100fps. 40gr I was running 3700fps with same powder.

IMR 8208 and Benchmark work well.

I run a couple 20-223 Improved with Benchmark. 3700ish with 39gr/40gr.

Yes they do. Tac 30°, Improved °40.

I have 40° in bolt and AR, both feed fine.

I have a 223AI in a Rem 700 and when I first had it built I ran with the standard BDL bottom metal then later converted it to a HS Prec det. mag setup and both always fed perfectly fine but I guess some guys weren't as fortunate because I hear grumblings of feeding issues so I was curious how well these fed through AR mags. I'd imagine, in an AR, the Tac version by nature of their shallower shoulder angle probably feed a little better though but with an AR you take the risk of losing brass so for an AR build I'd stay with the 20 Prac.

I have a 223 Improved in an AR, never one hiccup.

I also run a 17-223 Improved in an AR, no hiccups.

Both have adjustable gas blocks as I run them suppressed if coyote hunting.

I run a brass catcher and get 5-6 reloads with LC brass.

The 20-223 Improved is a bolt gun and I run Lapua brass.

The 223 Improved is getting turned into a 20-223 Improved, just waiting on the CF blank.

My sons 223 bolt gun is getting the same makeover, also waiting on the blank.

I own the reamer so it's pretty easy.

I have thousands of rounds through ARs in 223AI and 20P. No issues with feeding or mags. I use cheap velcro brass catcher bags with each rifle and I don't chase or lose brass. I'm talking prairie dog bench guns. I'm retiring the 223s after discovering 20Ps.
I load ball powders since I'm loading 3,000 + rounds per batch. Ramshot Xterminator/AA2230 and AA 2200. They might be temp sensitive, but I've never had issues even at 100 degrees and 5,000' elevation.
