Gabe,
Ever shot it in competition?i have a .175" short .17 PPC and a .150" short .20 PPC
just for fun. But I'll be honest the .20 Beggs does the same much easier with less case forming cheaper dies. but with a less sexy case designEver shot it in competition?
Edit:
Or just for varmints ??
just more efficiency. same velocity with less powder but at the expense of time and custom dies and barrel wear to fireformI have a 20 PPC as well and personally see no reason to shorten it up. Would just be a pain in the butt for no good reason in my opinion.
.232” neck?? Or .237 nk?i have the 20 pup reamer, never chambered it though
.231 Neck.232” neck?? Or .237 nk?
Yeah but with so many other smaller options available, such as the 20 VT, it makes more sense to go that route. Some people don’t mind forming brass for wildcats tho. I did it for a while with a 20VT many years ago when it first came on the scene and it wasn’t worth the effort in my opinion. Now there’s people offering ready made 20VT brass. Much easier being able to just buy 20VT brass, load, and shoot. I just don’t like how thick necks get when cases are formed into the body of the case. But to each their own if they want to conduct multiple stages of forming for brass. All the 20 calls are a ton of fun to shoot and deadly accuratejust more efficiency. same velocity with less powder but at the expense of time and custom dies and barrel wear to fireform
yep .20 Viper is does the same more efficiently but you have to form brass. Needless to say I have bothYeah but with so many other smaller options available, such as the 20 VT, it makes more sense to go that route. Some people don’t mind forming brass for wildcats tho.
