20 practical

Here you go, notice I put a pretty good chamfer on the outside of the neck.
One on the left is sized down in one pass with a .227 bushing with imperial wax.
On the right is after necked down and shot once.
I dont anneal either untill after there necked down.
Thank you for that. I also can clearly see you have the same "doughnut" around the case on the left as I do.

What i call donuts are on the inside of the neck shoulder junction.
If it chambers without resistance everything should be fine.

I didn't know what else to call it.. thats what it looks like to me, and I posted a picture of it early on.
Anyway, you are correct that if it chambers fine it doesn't matter, but mine does not chamber correct. It does hit that spot and flattens it out a bit once chambered. Sure it chambers, but with a bit of resistance. Most people probably wouldn't know it, however it can be an issue being as it will put a massive amount of neck tension on your bullet if it is seated to the junction once a round is chambered.

This will cause you to have pressure spikes and "early" pressure at a low charge when doing load development.

Color that area in with a sharpie and chamber it, I would bet it will hit and flatten out/ leave a smear. It might not be as bad as my chamber. Try slowly letting the bolt close, does it close without hitting the forward assist?

I can assure you the brass i form has no resistance, ive formed probably 500 brass this way and all have shot good with no problems.
Its the way I do it and works for me, to each his own.

I don’t have a barrel yet, but I’ve started making brass and a Wilson die with a SAC bushing works fine in a single pass.
