.20 Practical question

So, for you folks that have done .20 Practicals...Are you asking for any "freebore" when you order your barrel. I plan on shooting the 39-40 grain bullets and in a quandary if I should request any freebore.

My 1:10 barrel is a zero free bore and it shoots the 39/40gr bullets very well. I have a chart of my distance to lands with various bullets and all of the loadings are under magazine length.

I think zero is the way to go. No sense having a longish case neck and not be able to use it. I'm pretty sure that Warren B's reamer was a zero FB, nice guy BTW. I have a 20-222 with .010 and wish I had gone with a zero.
Also, FWIW, the 20 Practical is a very good choice. If it were not for the fact that I do not have a .223 and load for the .222, I would have gone with the 20 Practical (.223). I'd rather be shooting than fire-forming brass. Been there, done that.

Would a reason for voting for zero free bore be the advantage of "chasing" the lands as the barrel starts to wear? Going with my present day shooting regularity I sincerely doubt I will ever chase the lands on this rifle. It's just something I wanted to build and it will probably not be shot very much. I have until Monday to decide on the free bore.

I'm past 2000 rds. in my bolt gun and haven't had to chase the lands.

My COAL to the lands on most 40gr bullets and zero free bore is running between 2.255" and 2.265" which is right at max magazine length for the pmags in my AR. If I ran .010-.015 freebore, i would be right at max mag length instead of just comfortably inside of it.

Go zero FB, no need to go long, especially if you shoot 32's or lighter.

Both of my barrels are zero FB and I've never had reason to consider a change. Accommodates the 32s, 39s and 40s just fine - I don't shoot the 50s.
