.20 Practical cases

My .20 Practical build is starting. I have about 1000 once fired and 100 new WW cases. I also have about 1000 LC mixed cases. Is either brand better than the other? If I was to use the LC cases would I have to sort out by years?

I have used both types of cases and in my rifle with the load I'm using they shoot same point of impact from a 1-11 twist Pac-nor barrel.
My rifle does not seem to be fussy with Winchester and LC brass. I prepare both the same when forming the necks.
I have been very happy with the accuracy I'm getting which has been dime size groups at 200 yards.

I use mixed year LC for my 24" 3p 1:10 BHW barrel with excellent results. I buy the brass by the thousands for my service rifle and keep a few hundred for my .20P, I do not want to sort it lol.

Well, good! I think I'll follow suit and try the WW brass and the LC brass. Hopefully there will not be much, if any difference.

For accuracy sake, and maybe a little safe insurance, you may want to sort the brass by headstamp after you process it. I have lots of brass and there is nothing wrong with shooting mixed lots, unless you are running near a max load. Minor differences in case capacity can take a load from mild to wild with a variation in temperature. I went thru several hundred 7.62 cases the other night, sized, de-primed, de-crimped, cleaned, etc. Then I sorted them by headstamp just to make myself feel they were closer to being similar with each other.

Steve :)

The LC brass can be sorted by year and call it good. The winchester brass can be sorted by the headstamp and/or by weight.

If you have a .233 neck, Lapua will run .231" after seating a bullet if you are sizing down. I find no difference in WC of cases between IMI, LC, and FC. I tend to group by headstamp buy not year.
