I love the 20's because they shoot lighter bullets...for me personally stick with the 40 grainers, I am shooting the 20 Pracitial. Works great in the Magazine and the little bullets are moving along @ 3800 fps plus
super flat, extremely destructive with no recoil. You get to watch the hits in the scope.
In today’s world with the availability of components you can’t beat the 20 practical and if you load for the 20 practical you should try the 20 sploder Both of these cartridges will feed from stock 700 Remington magazines or if you put them in a chassis the MDT magazines also feed very well.
Here's a shot of my Plain Jane, 20-222. Remage PacNor barrel, 40X rimfire stock. Couldn't be happier with this arrangement. I've also got a Remington tupperware stock that I've channeled to fit this barrel. (better for a carry rifle)
I don't own a Chronomagadget, and don't even know how fast my cartridge is shooting. It kasplodes the squirrels quick enough for me to see it in the scope.
Top pic shows the Viper 5x25 PST that I just put on it.
This barrel is a 26", and someday I might get a wild hair and lop 6" off of it. jd
