looking for gossip from the big 3 on 20 cal 50 gr. 55 gr. ballistic tips ?
hoping that there getting closer to doing something.

thanks joel

Long as all the factory 20cal rifles come with a 1:12 twist we are not likely to have any of the major bullet companies manufacturing bullets that need a 9 or 10 twist to stabilize. Sad but true.

Even the 40gr V-Max is marginal in a 1:12" barrel. I rebarreled to a 1:10" for it.

how do the black hole bullets perform on small game, im sick of the performance of match bullets penciling through. takes the fun out of it for me

FWIW, I know for a fact that a certain Oregon bullet maker here has zero plans for this caliber/weight combination.....been there many times and get the same answer...."NO". Just not enough market share to make it worthwhile.

Can't use their name on forums any more, as their IT Nazi's use the company name for a search word, and persecute any employee or their spouse for "talking out of school". Been there too. :(

Oooo Oooo Ooooo................

I know the answer to this............How much trouble will I be in for answering correctly??????????????????????????

Give Blaine a call and ask him about his bullet performance on your intended target/animal.

He is a really nice guy to talk with........

Any reason they don't post price$ or BCs for their products? It would probably save a lot of email answering on their end.

Just wonderin'

No idea as to the prices or the B.C. numbers, but Blaine is pleasant to talk with, it was worth my dime to call...

You should be able to get on the board by using Berger's number for the 20 Cal 55gr BTHP. Earlier discussions with Blaine and my own BC calculations suggest that his BC is a tad better. The Diamond Tip makes a difference!

I haven't been able to get out to a place where the ranges are long enough to see what adjustments might be needed, but the 100 yard accuracy is in the same ballpark or possibly a tad better than with the Berger.

Berger bullets are outstanding which says something about Blaine's bullets.

I'm curious about this myself, running a 20Br now in a 1-11t with the 39g Blitzkings, thinking maybe going with a 1-9t and the heavies for the next barrel and it's nice to have other options than Berger.

Wishing for a 48-52 poly tipped bullet for a very long time.I have talked to Sierra people and Hornady people about this subject and the short answer
is that until a factory offers a 9 twist rifle in 20 cal we won't see any heavier poly tipped bullets.I think Savage is our best hope, look what they did with the
.22-250 and the 6BR.I think we all need to ask Savage for a fast twist .204R
in a LRPV and then hit up the bullet makers again. Its funny I used to talk to Nosler about a poly bullet in 17,they said Never, now look who makes 'em.
There is always hope. :)
