20 Br Brass Issue

I pretty sure I know what the issue is -just not how to fix it.
Forming Lapua 6 BR Brass through 22 cal Hornady neck die with expander ball removed then sizing with a .229 bushing in FL Redding 6BR die. Brass will NOT chamber (without bullet) --I am thinking that I am not sizing all of the neck with the .229 bushing--I used a body die and bumped the shoulder back did not help- any Ideas on a fix (.233) neck- even lightly turned the neck

Thanx,
Jim

Correct, it most likely is not sizing the brass all the way down. Try flipping your bushing over so you aren't using the beveled side, that is if you aren't using that side already. Or just buy a non-bushing 20 BR die...

when you did the light neck cut did you cut it to the shoulder? if so it should have removed the unsized portion.

necking down will increase case length. check the trim length.

Had the same problem yesterday...check your case length...our reamer has a case length of 1.535"...this is the standard PTG 20br Norma reamer with a 0.233" neck.
