biggest 20 I've set up was a 20 BR...just didn't trip my trigger

its now a 20-222...perfect bore to case ratio

One of the members on Saubier did a 20-06. Same cat different coat. Couldn't beat the BR speeds.

I made a 20-284 but the barrel lasted too long. So then I built a 20-300 Win Mag but the barrel still lasted through too many shots. Then I built a 20-338 Lapua and finally got the level of barrel wear I was hoping for.

Ok, ok. Not really.

I think you'd run into a point of no return with case size versus bore. I think the biggest case that still can push a 55 out at speeds is something along the lines of the 22-250 or 6.5x47 case or an improved version of either. Maybe a guy could pick up some speed going bigger but I don't know if it's really pay much.

With a 26" barrel a 20-250 will push the 55s near or over 3800. I've seen others claim close to 4000 with the 20x47L case.

Big 20s are fun but they don't last long! I burnt up a 20-250 on about 650 rounds. But new battles aren't THAT expensive right?!
