I haven't watched a broadcast national news program in several years. I also only very rarely watch the local broadcast news. Dan Rather,,a 'Tino', Texan in name only) finished me off.
Though flawed by frequently shallow research and inept presentation, Fox cable news at least does some research, and has become the only news channel I can tolerate.
The major broadcast networks are overtly driven by liberal ideology.
Fox, on the other hand, I believe is driven mainly by profit,,OK by me) and secondarily, to have at least some level of credibility. They are in fact profitable, and in my opinion, they have also managed to establish and maintain a degree of credibility. If you wonder how to measure that credibility, ask yourself when was the last time a Fox News commentator has been proved to have lied about any issue for any reason. Then try to count the times that they have been accused of it by the scum they expose or broadcast and the other cable news networks. Those organizations have in fact institutionalized the practice of lying about, ignoring, or covering up anything that doesn't support their view, notably firearms ownership and the idiotic belief that crimes are the gun's fault, not the sociopath using it.
I have unfortunately become essentially a single issue voter. Without the protection of the 2nd amendment, the others will be taken away from us. 'Any government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take it away'.
If NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NPR and the rest all failed, the truth about America would not be affected, because they don't broadcast a true picture of our country anyway. However, their failure would scare me more than the crap they presently call news and analysis. That doesn't mean that I will watch them or listen to them though. Not for any reason. Some one might conclude that I am supporting them.
Sorry about getting so long-winded, Tom
