2 Stage Trigger for Winchester 70

[Turpentine]

Anyone make a good two stage trigger for the model 70? Not target ounces light weight but say 1- 1.5 lb 1st stage, 1.5 - 2 lb second stage. Total of 2-3 lbs for both stages would be about right.

Scott Medesha made a 2 stage for the M70. Good luck finding one....

Briley (of shotgun fame) makes an adapter for both the M70 and Rem 700 that allows modern Anschutz triggers to be used. They work great. Check with Randy Gregory for installation work.

I appreciate the reply. Not sure my guy would want to go that route but all I can do is ask. I put a 2 pound single stage timney in his Sako and he has been pleased. He just has two stage on the brain right now. I can relate as i prefer two stage myself.

I have 2-stage Jewel triggers on both my pre-64 and post-64 Model 70's.

Evidently they made them for a while, then discontinued them. Back to the drawing board I guess.

Just be glad you are not into Schuetzen or Black Powder Cartridge Silhouette shooting.
Casting your own bullets, sizing and lubing them, and ranging targets out to 1000 yards.
Gorgeous walnut stocks and blued or case hardened metal. Oh, yeah, and those 1-2 ounce when set double set triggers.

At least here you can just buy jacketed bullets.

Yep...if you had bought them from Mr. Jewel back in the 1990's they could have been 2-stage!

Buck. I checked with my guy and of course he make me look like a Jack---. Now he says he wants to stick with single stage since that's what he hason his .Sako. I do appreciate the offer
