2 Piece vs 1 Piece Bases?

Years ago I bought a set of Ken Farrell two-piece 20 MOA bases. I have never used them.

Is there any advantage to using either a one or two piece base on a short action 700?

Thanks

Ring spacing adjustability.

I like one piece bases because if I lose one screw I still have three screws left on the base holding it in place, instead of having one of the bases moving around due to only anchored by one screw. I am probably anal because I also use loctite red on the base screws and blue on the rings.

I've had both one piece, and two piece on the same rifle, and much prefer the two piece. Much easier for my fat finners to chuck a shell in the action. Also another grab point for handling the rifle, or even carrying it with the scope. (no this has never caused me any problems) Also never had any stability problems, using blue loc tite. jd

I prefer the Talley two piece (solid ring/base combo) mounting system especially on heavy recoiling rifles and for hard field use. It's almost impossible to knock them out of alignment.

I've got both: rifles with 1 piece base and rifle with 2 piece scope bases.
Never had any problem with either type.
Rifles ranged from 270W up to and including a 9.3x62.

Over the years, I've had to trouble-shoot a myriad of accuracy issues.
K-O-W, Scope bases looseness or type have never pop up on my radar screen.

I'm going to use a 1 piece on both my savage bench guns in order to move my new scope from one to the other. Can't afford all these scopes.

One piece is what I use. When installing a 20moa base the transition between scope rings is perfect. I believe the one piece is more secure as the other gentlemen have said.

Always been in agreement with the theory that it helps the rigidity of the action. Even if it helps by .001% it's not hurting anything for me so I always run 1 piece.
