2 New Pending I.B.S. 1000 yard World Records 7/24/2016

Jim Richards group was in LG. The IBS only recognizes records shot in registered IBS matches. Unfortunately club records are just that. So if everything pans out I would think Mike will hold the new IBS HG group/score world record.

Thanks.... my bad.... forgot Jim's was in LT-Gun (Matt also PM'd me).
But like I wrote Matt back; shows reason why they need updating.....
Can't keep them all straight without being documented to see/read on the website.

I haven't had the pleasure of being at any matches with you guys but my heartiest congratulations with a WELL DONE! You LR shooters amaze me.

Records Only reflect when the club has conditions to where records can be set .
Yes they are nice to have . Congratulations to the new records . Larry

It takes more than conditions.

If you guys would hold registered matches I bet you would be surprised. Manatee has pretty good conditions. Florida is the least windy state in the country. That 600 yard line would see some tiny groups I bet.

Some details. Not sure if he was using this rifle but this is the 6.5x47 that Mike shoots with at my range. He uses Forster dies, Prefers H4350 powder. Is an aggressive cleaner and cools his barrel with a funnel and fan between shooting groups. I am attaching some photos of his rifle that I took at my local range. His chamber neck is a .293

They typically do come in favored conditions, but not always!
And they reflect a lot more: they reflect greatness and what those people, there equipment, and there loads are capable of. There wasn't 20 records broke, there was only 2 IBS records by 1 and the same and very dedicated guy.
Look at his results from previous matches and years. He's no slutch, with obvious dedication and is a repeat National record holder, that marked a couple more notches on his belt !.!.!

I don't understand stand your reasoning. We can't get 10 shooters to shoot a informal match why would we get more .
The bench rest stopped holding matches from the lack of attendance. . Was it the weather no . It's the 5 hour drive after you get to the state line. Larry

You weren't there.... nor do you know what the conditions were or what Mike was all faced with (neither do I).
Your ignorance is becoming....

People will drive along way to shoot in a IBS match, not so just for fun. I drive 5 and 6 hours to go shoot at ranges that hold IBS matches.

Mike congratulations on your record, I came close to it at Vapor Trail, maybe next time.

Larry,

We have people come from the west coast, 12+ hours. The Dakotas, again 12+ hours. Not that any of this belongs on this particular thread. Mike had a near miss on this record in 2014 if I'm not mistaking. And he is one of four to ever agg a complete season in 10 shot, under 6" for all 10 matches and under 5" for 6 match. It's no accident, and these guys that strive for greatness are not travelling to a dang club match lol.

Congratulations again Mike, which is pretty much all that needs to be said!

How well I understand that . We only have them coming one way . And only 3 state that can make it in 10 hours . The same 10 hours they can go to a club that has 50 or more shooters. Our bench rest had the best of the best in the world . But they were the only shooters We had . The saying build it they will come . Don't work in Florida . I will be the first to complement them on their new record. You should know what it takes in numbers to make a shoot successful . Larry
