2 days ago I almost walked down range for good....

I am sitting on my couch now , but two days ago my arms and especially my shoulders started throbbing... I couldn't take it anymore and went to the ER... About 10 minutes later I was in a helicopter.... I was having a major heart attack... No chest pains etc just shoulder pain... It's not been a great last couple of days but it's better than the alternative...

I wanted to post this because I would have never thought I was having a heart attack from the symptoms.... I was just sitting watching TV... Be careful guys it truly can happen and the symptoms can be hardly nothing.... I got lucky... I couldn't believe it even when they were loading my on life flight... But the look on the ER doctors face let me know it was serious.... You could tell she thought I was done for...

Glad you are recovering and sought help in time. Take care

Lol , they pulled mine out 1 EKG pad at a time....

Scary stuff when your on your back and you realize it can happen just like this. Glad your still kicking buddy! Get well soon.

All the best for a speedy recovery. Sometimes we all tend to ignore important things, and if we're lucky we live through it. Take care of yourself.

Around ten years ago I was visiting over the phone with my father. He mentioned having a hell of a back ache. He was dead the next day. A doctor later told me that any pain below the neck can be symptoms of a heart attack.

yep sometimes not alot of warning this year at christmas i start feeling like crap i waited till feb 15th and drove myself out to ER told i was having a heart attack. told the doctor well if its a heart attack i have been having one for two and a half months! Ended up triple by-pass fine now but learned a lesson i already knew get help. Back to shooting again all the time.

Good lord that was a close call! Not many get the second chance you did, so glad it worked out for the better. Are you going the non surgery route? A close friend just went through the same thing. Was seconds from death when he finally made it into the ER. He chose the non surgery route, drugs and a healthier lifestyle.

I hope you get better soon!

I had a heart attack at 59. Sat down to eat dinner. Put one fork full of food in my mouth and my chest started to hurt. Told my wife I either have the worst heart burn ever or I'm having a heart attack. Took 3 baby asprin, went to the ER, a hilo took me to the hospital and right into the procedure room. Had a stent in place after a few minutes. 6.5 years later another stent put inside the old stent. Had tightness in my chest while hunting. Now at 70 I'm still alive. Even do some jogging when I walk/jog the dog. Do all your follow ups with the Doc. and any tests/meds they want you to do/take.

wow im sure glad you made it through it. Take care of yourself

Thank you for passing this along and telling your story. You very well could have saved a life by making people aware that a heart attack doesn't always present with chest pain alone. I urge everyone to take a Red Cross or a American Heart Association CPR class. You'll not only learn skills that could save a life, you might learn skills and information that could save your own life.

I hope you have a speedy recovery!
