1911 pistol with a 6 inch barrel in 45 ACP?

I'd like to purchase a 1911 pistol in .45 ACP with a 6-inch barrel, but I don't want to have it custom made if I can avoid it.

Springfield used to have a stainless-steel model, but I haven't seen one in a long time. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Darryll

There are about 600 listed on gunbroker.

Search for “long slide” or “longslide”. Specify caliber.

Also a lot of pistol listings on 1911 Addicts. There are posting rules in place there for the classifieds.

I've handled the Kimber 6" reciently in a local shop. It was pretty nice but I ended up passing. I just didn't see where it was going to gain me anything over the fleet of 5" 1911's I cueently own.

I have two Iver Johnson’s and a Kimber
Owned a Springfield did not feel it was 2x the $$
Best value to me the Kimber by just a tad.
I shoot the Iver Johnson duel tone 45 the most.

If you already have a decent 5" 1911, consider adding a 6" barrel, and having the best of both.
Kart makes 6" 1911 barrels in all 1911 calibers with proper dimensions for a 5" slide/bushing.
(This is also the barrel you would use on a 5" slide when threading the exposed portion for a suppressor).
After I had a properly fit Kart barrel, I found it very difficult to go back to most others.

(I don't work for Kart)
