1890 Elevation Thread Size

I have a Winchester 1890 .22 pump rifle that I am restoring. The rusted in elevation screw broke off while trying to break it loose. I have successfully drilled out the center, but an Eze Out will not remove it. I will now drill it out and re tap it. I am assuming it is a 6x48 thread. Does anyone know for sure the correct size?

doubt its 6-48, guns too old for that standard but who knows it may be.
easy option is to find a screw from numerich or some other parts house and measure it.
heres the kicker even if you do find one, it may be a proprietary thread that you cant get a tap for easily. May just want to bite the bullet and make a new screw and tap it for 6-48 or 8-40

I'm not sure I'm an old timer, but if this is what you are talking about, it is 6-48image.jpg
